In 2154 there are two classes of people: those who are very wealthy, who live in a purely man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, damage the Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a civil servant, will not cease to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That does not stop people from trying to get into the ground, in any way they can.
